Well, SOMEONE at Comcast cares..

Wednesday July 1st, Comcast Cares contacts me regarding my issue. Puts me in touch with local representative who is nice enough to explain the problem and give me her contact number if I have anymore issues. Problem, according to her, stems from updates regarding "Copyright Flag" used by the Cablecards. Comcast has sent the flag to prevent what you can transfer off of your TiVo device to products like TiVo 2 Go (Such as TrueBlood and Bill Maher) so that they can no longer be transfered either between TiVos or to a laptop for later viewing. I inqured as to the likelyhood of "Storage limits" being set, which is also a Copyright flag.. This flag would limit the number of DAYS you can store a program, and would be the fastest way Comcast could make me a DirecTV customer. The rep promised to get back with me.

I have and love Dish Network. We have their DVR (in other words, no TiVO, nor their subscription fees), and it comes with instructions on how to connect your DVD recorder to burn DVD's of the programs you have recorded. No limits on which HBO shows can be recorded or transferred or anything like that. It's as simple as it should be.
