... and that's why I want to ask you -- what do I want to buy to replace the dead computer in my living room?

I need to spend less than $700

I looked at a Dell inspirion 530 with 4GB and core2duo and stuff -- is that a good computer? I do everything on-line, banking, email and stuff -- pretty much the only things I store on my harddrive are photos. We're not gamers so I don't need the fancy video things. (Dylan's all on his Wii) What's your opinion?

Thanks! in advance
and sorry to hear that your gee pee ess kicked the bucket -- sounds like it was a solid piece of electronics. What replaces it now?

I purchased a Garmin 765T to replace my Street Pilot, It's pretty groovy but i'll miss my old one in some ways since it was my first. :)

I haven't worked with the Dell you mentioned, but we get a lot of Dells at Vandy and have very few problems, plus my Girlfriend Tonya works at Dell so I'd give it a positive recommendation. :)
