Carmax Win

Carmax has come thru with an epic win that has certainly reignited my desire to purchase and get service from them in the future.

The service manager, Terri Pope, from Carmax contacted me just now to inform me that I would be reimbursed $115 for the Plugs that were placed in my car. Why? Because they were put in by Carmax a little less than a year ago. Terri took the time to look back at my repair history on this vehicle and discover this tidbit.

So while I wasn't refunded the charge I was looking to have refunded, the effort that carmax too to make me a satisifed customer speaks volumes about their commitment to satisfaction.

Thank You Very Much Carmax!

It looks like Carmax was trying to find a way to make you a satisfied customer without breaking any of their own rules. Businesses have to do that, otherwise everyone will want free diagnostic testing. I just think that the diagnostic testing should be included if you have repairs performed there, but they didn't call me to ask me my opinion when they created these policies.

Well, up in deetroit thats how most places are. They do the same thing with car stereos.. if you buy the car stereo, the installation is free. But we are just crazy northerners. ;)

I stand by my original opinion about the fee, but the effort they put into it proves that they aren't just trying to bilk me for cash.

Don't get me started on installation fees here! I bought Vernon a stereo for his car last Christmas, and Best Buy was practically giving them away. Installation cost me like $150, though.

I feel much better about Carmax now but I agree, the diagnostic fee should have been waived because they did the repair work.

You shouldn't have to pY a diag since they are admitting fault.

Oh, I am impressed. Too bad you had to complain so much, but I am glad it all worked out in the end.
