Dear Carmax Service Department

If your given first name is TaTa, i'm going to insist you be a little less dismissive of my car problems. I can't help that my Car broke down over the weekend and your service department is closed until 8 AM on Monday. I can't plan when my car is going to break down so the fact that I don't have an appointment doesn't mean I don't respect you or your service department.

Quit whining
Number one, with Maxcare warranty, you are not bound to take your car to Carmax. You can go to another shop, but your deductible is $75 instead of $50. Of course you should pay a diagnostic fee. That is how the mechanic gets paid. Does you Doctor diagnose you for free?

Re: Quit whining
I am not trying to take food out of a mechanics mouth, but we both know that the "Cost" of hooking the car up to that box to read the error is a brief job and all profit. I paid several hundred dollars to have spark plugs and wires replaced which had the effect of "paying" the technician. So lets not pretend that removing this diagnostic fee results in a mechanic going hungry or unpaid.

Trust me, it is more than just "hooking up a machine". If it had been covered by the warranty co. They would have paid Carmax the diagnostic fee. It is your car. Take ownsership. Don't blame this "Ta Ta.
