As a matter of fact, he did. At least according to the final episode of the series.

We talk about the infinite loop here at work, usually when it comes to rebooting systems, but I don't think I would want to be in the infinite leap.

The last episode of the series was kind of amazing, because he ends up meeting up with God/Fate/Time/Whatever and finds out that HE can control his leaps and HE can go home whenever he wants. Of course, when Sam is given the choice between going home and continuing to help people HE decides to keep leaping. But before he does, he goes and tells Beth to wait for Al (who is coming back from Viet Nam after being MIA) so Lisa never remarries. As a result, Al never joins Project Quantum Leap so Sam ends up jumping thru time alone. But secure in the knowledge that since Al doesn't lose Lisa he's actually a happy family man instead of the lonely womanizer he was. So Sam makes the ultimate heroic sacrifice and in doing so, he never returns home.

I just barely remember the details of the show. How do you remember all that?!?! Now I'm REALLY scared to play the movie trivia game with you!

Btw, I did remember my Memory Unit thingamabob.

QL was one of my favorite shows. Thats how I remember it so well. In other Trivia news: Wonder Womans bracelets were made of Feminium and she would only lose her powers if BOUND BY A MAN. ;)
