Dear Te’sh,
I am a frequent drive thru customer of the 3005 West End Ave Starbucks and am confused by a recent decision this store has made. Until recently there was a Trash Can that was accessible to the drive thru customers. Without warning one day, it had been moved away from the Drive Thru area and was no longer accessible. A few days later the “Scoop” portion had been removed to make it look like a normal trash can. When I inquired to the staff as to why this was, the answers I received ranged from “I don’t know” to “It was being used too much”. I’m no expert, but to me isn’t the very point of a trash can for drive thru customers be that it IS used? Now I try my hardest not to generate a lot of trash when I solicit the drive thru by never asking for a receipt, but generally I get a Frappuccino, which at the very least will generate that left over paper from the straw. I usually get looks of incredulity when I ask the staff to throw these away, but they always exceed to my wishes. Is there any possible way that this trash can might be returned to its former position of glory with access for drive thru customers? It would certainly make me happy and somehow I doubt I’m the only one.
